Ann McCauley introduces her seventh design for Wool People: Gehry is a swingy V-neck pullover for bold, clean style—kin to Arabella, her popular design from Wool People 7. The A-line shape is notched with large decorative side vents, and ribbed epaulets highlight the trimly tailored shoulders. Single-row welts of purl stitches crisply set off the deep ribbings.
Construction
The garment pieces are worked flat from the bottom up and sewn together. Each side of the neck edging is picked up and worked flat, and shaped with decreases at the center neck edge. The side edges of each ribbing are then sewn together at the center front neck, and sewn to the back neck edge. Each ribbing at the side of the body is picked up, worked flat separately on front and back, and shaped with decreases at the upper edge. The side edges of the ribbing are then sewn together at the decreased edge in the same manner as the neck edging.
