Garnets And Pearls
Pattern Description from MarniMacLean.com: “Corsetto is a fabulous yarn that has a great iridescence to it, working with it, gives all new meaning to Knit and PURL. When worked in seed stitch as we will do in this pattern, the effect is that of fresh water pearls woven into the fabric. On the other hand the contrasting yarn (so new, it’s yet to be named) is silky and shimmery, almost garish in its ostentation The effect, in my eyes, is fine jewelry which is, I think, nicely juxtaposed in this daring top.
To make this piece larger, simply start with a larger Bottom Band. This band fits about 2/3s of the way around my rib cage.“
Supplies:
- #13 needles
- 1 ball of Corsetto in Patina
- Less than 1 ball of Contrasting Yarn in color of choice (Please consult staff at Artfibers for more info on the yarn)
- Size G crochet hook
Yarn Substitution: Corsetto is a relatively thick metallic ribbon yarn. It will be hard to find an obvious substitution, but look for a yarn with some metallic content or with a opalescent shine to it. It should knit up into a relatively bulky yarn.
The contrasting yarn is a very short eyelash like yarn. You would not want something too dense and plush, but a chenille would be a nice alternative. This yarn is bulky as well.
