Gauge:
26 sts and 32 rows = 4” square in Garter stitch (knit every row)
It is not imperative that you achieve exact gauge for this piece, but having different gauge will affect how much yarn you need.

Gauge as you go!
Begin pattern and work until measures 6” from CO edge. There should be between 21 and 23 sts on the needle, and it should measure approximately 3.25-3.5” at the wide edge.
If yours is smaller, go up one needle size, if larger, go down.

You can knit this shawlette with any yarn and at any gauge! Use a scale to divide your yarn in half. Find the needle size that makes the best fabric, and work the Increase section with the first half, and the Decrease section with the second.
