Classic gingham print meets bold, brilliant hues! Choose your two favorite colors and whip up this simple scarf for the season.

Pattern Notes:

  • This pattern is written in US crochet terminology.

  • This scarf works flat from the bottom up.

  • The ch 2 at the beginning of each row DOES count as a st. This is a reversible pattern, there is no right side or wrong side.

  • This project uses tapestry crochet for the colorwork sections.

    • You will carry the non-working color along the row and trap them within the stitches. Be mindful of maintaining a consistent tension when trapping these floats, as they can impact the overall tension of your project.
  • This pattern uses a shorthand style of writing, beginning on Row 2.

Instead of: “With color B, ch 2, hdc in next st, changing to color A as you complete the st, with color A hdc in next 2 sts changing to color B as you complete the last st, with color B hdc in next 2 sts changing to color A as you complete the last st, with color A hdc in next 6 sts changing to color B as you complete the last st…”

You will see: “(B) Ch 2, hdc, (A) hdc 2, (B) hdc 2, (A) hdc 6…”
(A) or (B) = use the color noted in parenthesis to complete the indicated stitches.

You will have to switch to the upcoming color as you complete the last stitch in your current color. See “Color Changing Within a Row” in the Stitch Guide.
hdc 2 = hdc in the next 2 stitches
hdc 6 = hdc in the next 6 stitches
