Garden Friends Hoodlet
Garden Friends Hoodlet
Not quite a Hood, not really a Bonnet and more than your average Hat, the Garden Friends Hoodlet had a different beginning than any other pattern I have designed. Children’s Book Author, Laurel Heger contacted me asking if I would like to create patterns inspired by the characters in her book, Fox and Rabbit’s Cranberry Surprise. I knew immediately that this was something that I wanted to be a part of! Now you and your kids can dress up just like Fox, Rabbit and Hedgehog while you reenact this beautiful and heartwarming story!
Materials:
You will need 1 skein of Bulky #5 yarn for the band around the hat and the tassels, you will also need 1 skein of #4 (worsted weight) yarn of choice that you will hold together WITH 1-2 skeins of Fun Fur (approx 100 yards). Although most Fun Fur is classified as a #5 Bulky yarn, you will find that when paired with a #4 yarn it does not add a lot of bulk to your Hat. You are more than welcome to use whichever brand you like but I have given a list below of the exact yarns used in the photos.
FOX:
• Hook: K (6.5mm)
• Yarn: 2 skeins Lion Brand Romance in Spc
