Gambit
**Gambit** - a clever action in a game or other situation that is intended to achieve an advantage and usually involves taking a risk.
It’s not really a big risk, but I love knitting a fairisle hat like this with a self-striping yarn or with a tonal yarn like malabrigo.
You never know exactly how it will turn out, but the surprises are usually pleasant (and if not, you can always undo a few rounds and tweak it).
5 different stitch counts are given so you can knit to any of those 5 gauges.
There are 2 charts - one for dark MC; the other for light MC, so you can knit with the one closest to your yarns.
It’s an easy to remember repeat.
