Poncho may be worked from written instructions or from charts.

Poncho Back and Front are worked separately from the lower edge up to neck edge. After Back and Front are seamed, stitches are picked up around the neck edge for the collar. Collar is worked first in rounds, and then back and forth in rows.

A circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of sts on the Back and Front. Work back and forth in rows on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
