Für Claudia, a boxy sweater-vest, is a perfect layering garment during transitional weather. It has enough ease to throw over shirts and dresses, but is thin enough to comfortably wear under fitted blazers and jackets. The Argyle patter is rendered only in texture for a subtle detail that is easy to incorporate into many outfits.

CONSTRUCTION:
The vest is worked seamlessly from the top down, first flat (front and back), and then joined to be worked in the round. Optional kangaroo pocket is set in. The only seaming is two inches at the bottom sides of the pocket.

Judy’s magic cast on, long-tail cast on, cable cast on, backward loop cast on, knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, knitting in the round, picking up stitches, twist stitches.

Tutorials for the optional skills German short rows and tubular bind off.

Wrap & turn short rows, binding off in pattern and Jeny’s surprisingly stretchy bind off can be substituted for these optional skills.

You may select the size that gives you the ease you would like – the pattern has ~2 in of ease.

YARN REQUIREMENTS:

• Approx. 642 (732.5, 863.5, 988 // 1164, 1293.5, 1376.5)yds; 588 (670.5, 790.5, 904.5 // 1065.5, 1184, 1260)m of DK weight yarn,

• with an extra 36.5 (36.5, 44.5, 44.5 // 57, 57, 57)yds; 33.5 (33.5, 40.5, 40.5 // 52.5, 52.5, 52.5)m for pockets and

• 35 yds (32 m) to 138.5 yds (127 m) for bust darts.

GAUGE:
22 sts x 30 rounds = 4 inches or 10 cm in Stockinette stitch in the round, after blocking

NEEDLES:

US6 / 4mm circular 32 to 40 in (80 to 100 cm), cable length depends on size of vest.

Please use needle size and yarn that gives you gauge in order to obtain the correct sizing.
