Frozen Waters Cowl
One recent winter, my part of the world was rapidly fluctuating between cold and snow, and unseasonable warmth. On a trip up to the mountains I passed many lakes, all with the same bizarre appearance: lattice-like sheets of ice, intersected by rolling “waves” of ice where the water had lapped up during a warm spell and then refrozen. I immediately thought of those lakes when I put this cowl on – and then I thought of how nice this cowl would be on a ski trip! Warm, squishy, and generously sized, this cowl is perfect for keeping you warm wherever your winter adventures take you. And knitted in the round, with no seaming to be done and easily memorized, quick repeats, one road trip may be more than enough time to finish one!
This cowl is available in 5 sizes: all sizes are 6.5 in (16.5 cm) wide; the diameter for each size at the longest point is:
XS (21 in/53 cm) S (32 in/81 cm); M (43 in/109 cm); L (53 in/135 cm); XL (64 in/163 cm).
Yarn
80 yds (73 m) 120 yds (110 m); 160 yds (146 m); 200 yds (183 m); 240 yds (220 m) worsted-weight ; sample is 100% merino wool, 200 yds (183 m)/3.53 oz (100 g)
