Frolicsome Frog is a tree frog, about 10” / 25 cm long when all stretched out. You can make the toes with bobbles in the same yarn as the foot, or, to add a little sparkle you can attach beads for the toes. The front legs are sewn on and the upper section of the back legs is seamed, but all the rest is knitted together.

Although there are quite a few different techniques used (wrap and turn (w&t), German Short Rows, pick up stitches, Icord, 3 needle bind off, circular knitting on dp needles), an intermediate knitter should be able to tackle this pattern.

Gauge is not important except that the fabric be tight enough that the stuffing does not show through. The frog is knitted with fingering weight yarn and the feet with crochet cotton held along with the fingering. You can use any fingering weight yarn but yarn with at least 50% wool will hold the shape better. You will need about the following amounts of yarn:
MC: (main color) 35 yds / 32 m
CC: (contrast color for frog body front). 7.5 yds / 7 m
FC: (foot color) 10 yds / 9 m (This can be fingering weight yarn or crochet cotton).
TC: (toe color) #10 crochet cotton. 30 yds / 27 m
