Crochet level:

You should know how to crochet following stitches:

• ch (chain), sl st (slip stitch), sc (single crochet), hdc (half double crochet), dc (double crochet), tr (treble crochet), qutr (quadruple treble crochet - nothing scary, yarn over 5 times), puff stitch.

This pattern includes:

• schematic;
• written instructions;
• video - tutorial for crocheting Romanian Cord and joining square motifs as you go;
• charts.

Instructions are given in English language, American terminology.

Crochet hook:

• 1.9 mm.

Recommended materials:

• Scheepjes Maxi Sugar Rush * (100% Cotton, #1/ Lace/ 2ply weight, 50g/ 280m/ 306yds).

• 162 Black Coffee: 3 (4, 4) balls/ 140 (170, 190)g,

• 212 Sage Green: 2 balls/ 70 (80, 100)g,

• 261 Capri Blue, 383 Ginger Gold, 750 Bordeau, 124 Ultramarine: 1 ball/ 40 (45, 50)g each.

Sizes:

• S (M/L, 1X/2X) / 35 1/2 (41, 46 1/2)’’ / 90 (104, 118) cm bust circumference.

Gauge:

• Small round motif: 4.2cm/ 1 5/8’’ in diameter (excluding picot).
• Square motif side: 10cm/ 4’’side (excluding hip towers), 14cm/ 5 ½’’ (including hip towers).

You can make this vest shorter, just skip 1 or more rows of squares.
