Friends Shawl
This shawlette was designed to meet the specifications of a friend. She wanted something that would keep her shoulders warm, would stay on and would not get in the way when she worked. Garter stitch shawl with 5 increase points separated by columns of lace.
Yarn: Fingering to DK weight yarn - 525 yards/480 meters (13-16 wpi). Model knit from handspun yarn - 75% Blue Faced Leicester and 25% silk from Ashland Bay. Pictured with Jül Pedestal Button.
Needles and Notions: US Size #6 (4.0 mm) 40” (100 cm) circular needle or size to achieve gauge; tapestry needle; 22 stitch markers; US Size G (4.00 mm) crochet hook; and US Size #10 (6.0mm) or #11 (8.0 mm) needle for binding off.

Block the finished shawl to 36” in diameter. Once removed from the blocking board, the piece will relax to approimately 32” in diameter.
