Friendly Mittens
So, a few years ago, a friend of mine went to a flea market. They were getting rid of some woolly sweaters that hadn’t sold, giving them away for free. She brought me a stripy sweater, really lovely colours and quality wool. Sadly it wasn’t my size, but I did unravel it and wash the yarn. I was so happy she had thought of me so as a thank you I made her these mittens.
This is only a chart for mittens. You will need to know how to decrease the top and also thumb.
To begin with, I have alternated with knit and purl rows knitted in the round and then started knitting from the chart.
Unfortunately I’m not able to say exactly what yarn it was, but I did use size 4 mm needles and the mittens were my size, and I have smallish hands :) Also there is not pattern for thumb as I did it several times and was never happy with it, and in the end I would just do it single colour.
Hope you can make something with this that will make you or your friend happy too!
