Increasing sts
Decreasing sts
Changing colours

The scarf is worked in double crochet and chains throughout, changing colour at the end of every second row. The scarf starts at the point and increases every 10 rows until half the yarn is used, then decreases every 10 rows to end in a point. It is recommended to split your yarns in equal amounts before commencing, to keep track of when to end the increases and start decreasing.

Colours are always changed at the end of a row by wrapping the hook with the new yarn at the end of the very last stitch of the row. Do not cut the yarns, simply carry the yarn loosely up the side of the work when not in use.

The 1ch and 2ch at start of rows always count as starting chains, therefore you must work into them when returning at the end of the following row.

There is no right or wrong side of the work, as the scarf is fully reversible.

The very start of the scarf can be a little tricky to work as there are only a small number of stitches. Once the pattern is set in, it is very easy to follow. It is recommended to practice the set-up section and first 10 rows with a thicker waste yarn and bigger hook, or using one colour, then 2 colours if you are unsure.
