When it comes to scarfs, my husband loves to wear short ones. Like: you lay them doubled, wrap around your neck and pass the ends through the loop. Hopefully after doing this there is not much scarf hanging down. Then a scarf is perfect.

Just like this one.

It is interesting to knit because of an easy to memorize broken rib pattern, adding a second contrasting color and working in different directions.

Size: 21cm 8 ¼” wide, 153cm 60 ¼” long

Gauge: 20 sts x 28 R in Broken Rib pattern

Materials:
Yarn: 150g The Fibre Co “Canopy Fingering” (50% Alpaca, 30% Wool, 20% Bamboo viscose: 183m 200yds/50g): Color “Obsidian”, CF110 as MC the yarn will be held doubled

40g Tieke Garne “BFL Sport” (100% Bluefaced Leicester; 262 meters 286yds/100 grams): Color “Roter Apfel” as CC the yarn will be held single

Needles: Size 5,0 mm (US 8): circular 60 cm (24”).

Hooks: Size 4mm (US 6) crochet hook for provisional CO.

Notions: Scrap yarn; tapestry needle.

Wenn es um Schals geht, dann mag mein Mann die kürzere Variante. Nämlich solche, die sich wie folgt tragen lassen: Doppelt legen, einmal um den Hals schlingen und die Enden durch die Schlaufe ziehen. Hoffentlich hängt dann nicht zu viel Schal runter, dann ist er perfekt. So, wie dieser hier.

Dieser Schal ist interessant zu Stricken. Er hat ein leicht einprägsames gebrochenes Rippenmuster, es gibt eine Kontrastfarbe und außerdem wird in unterschiedlichen Strickrichtungen gearbeitet.
