Frederic Sweater
Oversize-Sweater with an airy gauge, drop shoulders and wide balloon-sleeves in sizes XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL) 3XL | 4XL | 5XL.
Structure:
The sweater is worked top down with 1 strand of yarn on 5
mm knitting needles for the airiest gauge as possible.
First, the back part is worked back and forth in rows.
Afterwards, the front parts are worked separately to
shape the round neck. When the front parts are joined, the
front part is finished like the back part. Both parts are then
joined under the armpits by casting on new stitches under
the armpits. The body of the sweater is now worked in
stockinette stitch in the round and finished off with a hem
in 1x1 ribbing - which is worked with 2 strands of yarn held
together. Then, stitches for the sleeves are picked up
around the armholes and the sleeves are worked in
stockinette stitch in the round as well. The sleeves are
relatively wide and tighten at the cuffs with a bunch of
decreases. The cuffs are worked in 1x1 ribbing with 2
strands of yarn held together. Last, but not least, the
collar in 1x1 ribbing with 2 strands of yarn is added to the
neckline sweater.
The fit of the sweater is loose and oversized with a boxy
shape. The light yarn in comparison to the airy gauge
makes it absolutely perfect for summer days.
