Foundation Cardigan is a basic raglan cardigan. It is quite easy to knit and suits a wide variety of yarns. The cardigan is worked top down with short rows, which shapes the neckline beautifully. At the end, front edges and neckline are worked and button are attached.

Size guide
Foundation Cardigan is designed with approx. 12-20 cm 4.75-8” of positive ease, allowing you to choose how loose or fitted you’d like it to be. In the photo, Foundation Cardigan in bouclé is shown with a positive ease of approx. 16 cm 6.25”. Foundation Cardigan in grey wool is shown with a positive ease of approx. 24 cm 9.5”.
Find your personal bust circumference by measuring around your chest (or the largest part of your upper body). Then, compare this measurement to the finished garment measurements listed at the beginning of the pattern. Positive ease is the difference between your body measurement and the measurements of the cardigan.
For example, if your bust circumference is 94 cm 37”, a size M will give you a positive ease of 13 cm 5”m – 94 cm = 13 cm) 42” - 37” = 5”. A size L will give you a positive ease of 20 cm 8”m – 94 cm = 20 cm) 45” - 37” = 8”.
