Looking for a pattern that will both challenge and reward you, something that will take some time to finish but also be a staple for years to come? Something to be forever yours?

Forever Yours is a light-weight sweater perfect for the cooler summer days or layering for the colder seasons. The sweater is worked seamlessly top-down with saddle shoulders and set-in sleeves with sleeve caps worked simultaneously with the yoke. A lace motif is running from the shoulder down the sleeves. The sweater has a deep, nearly-square neckline.

The body is worked in the round straight and slightly cropped, but can be easily lengthened as well. The pattern includes optional bust darts and instructions for either a split hem in garter stitch or a regular hem in twisted rib. This isn’t the simplest of patterns, but the result is well worth it! The lace instructions are both charted and written in the English version, Finnish is only charted.

The sweater is meant to be worn with neutral or positive ease. Choose a size with approx. 0-2” / 0-5 cm ease at the bust circumference. If you are unsure about which of two sizes to choose, check the shoulder width.

NOTE: I was not able to find test knitters for sizes 9, 11 & 12 but would be happy to accept some. If you would like to receive this pattern for testing one of those sizes, send me a PM and we’ll figure out a timeline! Test knitters will receive an additional pattern as a thank you for completing the test.

Neulojan Sohvilla Lämpö Light Fingering 2-ply (100 % Kainuu Grey wool, 250 m / 50 g) or other light fingering weight yarn. Shown in colour Dark Grey.

5-5-5-6 (6-6-6-7) 7-7-8-8 skeins.

Yardage:
1175-1240-1280-1395 (1450-1500-1525-1685) 1775-1885-1975-2005 yards / 1065-1125-1160-1265 (1315-1360-1385-1530) 1610-1710-1795-1820 meters.

Needles:
2,75 mm (US 2) and 2,5 mm (US 1½) - 32” / 80 cm or 40” / 100 cm circular needle. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the right gauge.

Gauge:
30 sts x 44 rows = 4 x 4” / 10 x 10 cm
in stockinette worked flat (after blocking).
