Forester
One of the fun things about knitting on the small scale presented by a cap is playing with stitch patterns that are reversible yet not the same on both sides. I loved the unusual ridged texture on the wrong side of the stitch pattern so much that I decided it should be the right side of the hat. Of course, you can always use the right side of the pattern as the right side of your hat. Or you can switch back and forth and appear to have two hats instead of one.
Fold up the brim for a close-fitting toque, or leave it unfolded to have a slouch hat. Four possible hats out of one!
Work the first 4” / 10 cm using a smaller needle for a better fit and to add a bit more structure to the brim of the hat.
