Looking for the perfect cover-up on a spring day? This cute capelet is light and airy, while adding the right amount of warmth and bringing a flirty edge to your wardrobe. Inspired by variegated green hues of the woods, the Forest Park Capelet will be an item you reach for again and again. The pattern is worked in two symmetrical pieces, and easily seamed together at the end, leaving minimal finishing work.
Forest Park is a public municipal park, in downtown Portland, and one of the country’s largest urban forest reserves. The park covers more than 5,100 acres of mostly second-growth forest with a few patches of old growth. About 70 miles of recreational trails, including the Wildwood Trail segment of the city’s 40 Mile Loop system, crisscross the park.
