Fontana
Worn as a shawl or scarf, Fontana flows gracefully around the shoulders like the silvery streams of a fountain’s spray. Simple, airy stitches lend an ethereal feel to the design and both charted and written directions, plentiful photographs, and a photo tutorial for a simple provisional cast-on are included in the pattern to assist the newer lace knitter.
A note on yarn choices:
Using the silk mohair yarn specified in the pattern results in the project shown; substituting yarn may produce a different drape and gauge and may require additional yardage.
Kidsilk Haze knits up at a variety of gauges depending on needle size and stitches used, and if substituting yarns, a fingering, sport, or DK weight yarn may be good choices, but always knit and block your swatch to be certain.
