For many years, I’ve wanted to design the perfect stocking stitch hat.

A hat that I could knit time and again, and that would become a much loved and well worn favourite.

I wanted to use some of those beautiful single skeins of fingering weight yarn we all have in our stash, often purchased as a reminder of a lovely trip.

The Folded Hat is the result! I hope you love it as much as me!

Hat Details

The hat features a lovely folded brim which is simple to work and gives a beautiful finish. The pattern includes a video tutorial for creating the folded brim.

The inside of the hat is equally as lovely as the outside, so if you are careful when weaving in your ends you can happily wear this reversed too.

Sizes

The pattern includes 3 sizes - Small (20 to 21 inch head circumference), Medium (22 to 23 inch head circumference) and Large (24 to 25 inch head circumference).

These sizes should cover all of your hat knitting needs, making it the perfect project for gift knitting.

Yarn

The hat is knitted using fingering weight yarn held double.

The pattern sample was knitted using a skein of Pixie Yarn in the shade ‘Rock Of Ages’. The skein was 425m/464yds to 100g. I knit the size medium and used 65g.
