Foal Hat
This pattern is a DK hat pattern that features tuck knitting! Instead of doing cables, tuck knitting is a much more simple way of creating a 3D effect on your work. It is also a great alternative to cabling if you like to knit on the go!
The pattern uses a chart and one skein of DK yarn. The chart is reasonably simple - I have uploaded tutorials for this pattern on our Instagram account @knitcosmicstrings
Please check your gauge - the needle sizes given are just a suggestion, but your hat size will vary depending on your knitting style and the yarn you are using.
I finished my hat with a faux fur pom pom, but you can easily make one with leftover yarn (even in another colour if you wish!) or not add one if you prefer.
I personally did not block my hat, but you can gently steam iron the back of the lace pattern to open it up if you like. I do not recommend blocking the ribbing, unless your hat is too tight on you.
