Flying Birds Shorties
Little shortie socks. Simple, cute and fast to make, because when all your friends see yours, they’ll want a pair too!
The Flying Birds name was suggested by one of my readers, and I loved it! I think the pattern does look like a flock of birds ❤️
They are worked from the top down and they feature a gorgeous ribbed textured pattern on the top of the foot. They have a ribbed heel flap and a wide toe.
SIZES
S (M, L). To fit a foot circumference of approx. 8 (8½, 9¼)”; 20 (21.5, 23) cm. Shown in size S.
MATERIALS
Yarn: 1 skein of Stroll by Knit Picks (75% Superwash Merino/25% Nylon; 462 yards 436m/100g) is enough for all sizes (you might even have enough to make 2 pairs of the smaller sizes!). The sample was made using colorway Pearlescent (tonal).
Needles: US 1 (2.25mm) dpns or long circular needles for magic loop (my preferred length for magic loop is a 32”/80cm long needle).
Other notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle.
GAUGE
34 sts and 42 rounds to 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette St on US 1 (2.25 mm) needles.
