Flycatcher

Flycatcher is a striking hat with a beginner-friendly stranded motif initially inspired by the sweeping v-shapes of birds in flight. But, as one of my testers put it, the motif is also akin to a spider’s web. Whether you see the motif as soaring chevrons or a delicate entanglement, I hope you delight in each stitch of this cozy hat, with its plump wool fabric and cozy folded brim.

PATTERN NOTES
This hat is worked seamlessly in the round from the bottom up. It begins with an optional Long-Tail Tubular Cast-On. The brim is worked in K1, P1 ribbing, and the main hat is worked in a simple stranded colorwork motif.
Choosing a Size
I recommend choosing a size about 2” / 5 cm smaller than the head circumference of the person wearing the hat.
Yarn Requirements: Adult Medium
As noted, a buffer has been built into the yardage/meterage recommended for this pattern. The MC for this size uses up almost exactly one ball of Deluxe Bulky Superwash, and it is always possible that a skein could be slightly over or underweight. You may prefer to purchase an additional ball as insurance.
