This dramatic and romantic shawl cloaks the wearer in a cloud of dazzling butterflies. It’s an eye-catching element for your wardrobe that provides warmth to your shoulders on cool summer evenings.

The fun stitches and simple construction make this an interesting, yet relaxing make and the butterfly motifs are an excellent portable project to carry with you on the go. This make also offers the chance for stash-busting to use small quantities of your favourite leftover yarn scraps in the butterfly wings, turning your shawl into an album of your favourite craft memories.

In addition, the square works up in aran/worsted yarn to 15cm/6” a popular size for crochet square designs and the Flutter Around Squares can be used alongside any others of the same size in sampler blankets, bags, cushions or whatever you like to make with crocheted squares.

Sizes: one size with adjustment tips

Tension: Each square measures 12.5cm x 12.5cm / 5” x 5” in DK or 15cm x 15cm / 6” x 6” in aran/worsted.

Working method: squares are crocheted centre out in rounds seamed into a rectangle and edged
