The body is knitted with fleecy textured yarn. It is recommended to use yarn that has similar yardage. If you opt for chunkier yarn, I recommend using thicker needles to knit the jumpers. The jumper is attached to the body and is not removable.
The crochet hook is to make chains for the tail. The project does not require crochet knowledge.
