The Fluffball Raglan is designed to be a simple raglan sweater knit with fluffy/fuzzy yarn for the ultimate cozy factor. It is a crew neck style, and is worked top down with some neck shaping, compound raglan shaping, and optional bust darts/waist shaping. The sleeves are intended to fit a little loosely, with a slight taper down to the ribbed cuff. The sweater is designed to fall at a slightly cropped length but you are welcome to modify length as desired. It is intended to be worn with 4-8 inches / 10-20 cm of positive ease. It is a size inclusive design with sizes written every 4 inches / 10 cm from 32-72 inch / 80-180 cm finished bust circumference.

Finished sweater upper bust (at end of raglan section) of:
30.5 (34.5, 38.5, 42.5)(46.5, 50.5, 53)(57, 61, 65, 69) inches / 76.5 (86.5, 96.5, 106.5)(116.5, 126.5, 132.5)(142.5, 152.5, 162.5, 172.5) cm
To fit actual full bust of:
24-28 (28-32, 32-36, 36-40)(40-44, 44-48, 48-52)(52-56, 56-60, 60-64, 64-68) inches / 60-70 (70-80, 80-90, 90-100)(100-110, 110-120, 120-130)(130-140, 140-150, 150-160, 160-170) cm
Note: The sizes reflect the FINISHED bust measurements in inches / cm of the sweater, and listed below you can see the recommended actual bust range for each size. The sweater is designed for 4-8 inches / 10-20 cm of positive ease. To determine the size you wish to knit, measure your bust and add 4-8 inches / 10-20 cm to find the closest size. If your upper and full bust measurements fall into different sizes, you may wish to choose size based on upper bust, as the additional increases in the body to the full bust measurement are easily adjustable. My sample is knit with about 6 inches / 15 cm of positive ease (Size 4 on a 38 inch / 95 cm bust and 31 inch / 77.5 cm waist).
Needles recommended:
-6.5 mm / US 10.5 / UK 3 (or size needed to obtain gauge) - main body
-6 mm / US 10 / UK 4 (or size needed to obtain gauge) - ribbing
-Cord length to match your bust measurement as well as 9-16 inch / 22.5-40 cm cord for the collar and sleeves (or DPNs or 32-40 inch / 80-100 cm cord for the magic loop method).
Gauge (blocked):
Using 6.5 mm / US 10.5 / UK 3 (body) needles and working in stockinette in the round
Note: 1 x 1 ribbing gauge is the same, but knit with 6 mm / US 10 / UK 4 (ribbing) needles. Make sure to check your ribbing gauge to ensure it matches, otherwise you may have issues with the fit of your collar.
4 x 4 inch / 10 x 10 cm = 12 sts x 17 rows/rounds
Yarn recommended:
Any Bulky weight yarn, or DK/worsted weight held double, to match gauge. It is designed to be knit with a fuzzy/fluffy yarn, but you could use a regular yarn held with some suri or other fuzzy yarn for the same sort of effect!
My original sample was knit using Pasley Knits Swimming Suri DK held double (90% Baby Suri Alpaca, 10% Silk, 246 yds / 225 m per 100g) in the colourways Snow on the Beach and Cornelia Street.
My second sample was knit using Pasley Knits Teddy Bulky Boucle (100% fine merino wool, 131 yds / 120 m per 100g) in the colourway Half My Soul.
Yarn combination alternatives used by testers:
-2 x Fingering + 2 x Suri/Mohair
-4 x Suri/Mohair
-Bulky Boucle/Bulky Fluff
-2 x Boucle DK + 1 x Suri/Mohair
-1 x Aran + 1 x Suri/Mohair
-Regular Bulky
Yardage required:
If you are planning to use Suri DK held double (or any other combination of strands), you will need the total yardage below for each strand.
430 (480, 515, 580)(640, 690, 750)(810, 890, 955, 1020) yards / 393 (439, 471, 530)(585, 631, 686)(741, 814, 873, 933) meters per strand
Additional yardage per extra inch of length:
13 (14, 16, 17)(19, 21, 22)(24, 25, 27, 28) yards / 12 (13, 15, 16)(17, 19, 20)(22, 23, 25, 26) meters per strand
Note: Yardage is an approximation and is calculated using the recommended body/sleeve lengths stated in the schematic on pages 5-6. Allow for extra yardage if choosing to do any length modification. The yardage can vary depending on your gauge and knitting, so I always recommend buying extra in case you require more yardage.
