CHAT THREAD - here
The mystery part is over, but this is still a rather addictive little hat made using stranded technique (but no long floats). The pattern has now been consolidated and charts added - you will be able to use written instructions or chart - whichever you prefer.
Apologies for the funky spelling, but I wanted to highlight the RNLI Float to Live campaign - more here.
Please pass on the message - it’s not just for water sports enthusiasts; it’s for anyone who might end up in water unexpectedly - i.e. anyone !!!
The pattern assumes that you know how to make a hat worked in the round.
Allow at least 80m/90yds each of 2 contrasting yarns - for maximum impact use a solid or tweedy yarn for the Main Colour and for the Contrast Colour use a self-striping, handspun or variegated yarn.
