You decide between a simple pattern without thumb or with a thumb (and gusset)- just chose a nice sock yarn & then happy knitting!

Note: For Size 1 the exact yarn consumption for one pair of simple arm warmers (with a straight slit) is about 38g and for a pair of arm warmers with thumb is about 45g. Thus, you can easily make 2 pairs of arm warmers from one ball.
For Size 2 the exact yarn consumption for one pair of arm warmers with thumb is about 54g. (For a simple pair 50g will suffice)
