Flowering Almond Shawl
This is a half circle shape shawl, with flowers and leaves.
Make it from fingering or lace weight yarn for a shawl for the summer or make it from thicker cotton yarn to warm you on a spring afternoon or from wool for the winter-time ;) Flowers are always lovely!
There are descriptions for two sizes, but the beginning is the same for the two versions (as it is top-down) so you may decide the size only while crocheting it!
The pattern is partially charted. The charts are made with crocharts.com.
The pattern is rather intermediate than beginner.
You may crochet it from any type of yarn, and the dimension of the finished shawl depend on the weight of the yarn and it depends also on the blocking behavior of the yarn. Some data about a few finished shawls:
Small version:
1) From worsted weight yarn, bambus and cotton, that doesn’t grow so much with the blocking:
482yards+216yards (441m+198m) and the finished size has a radius of about 25” (64cm).
2) From dk weight yarn, alpaca/wool:
547yards+241yards (500m+220m) and the finished size has a radius of about 30” (76.2cm).
Bigger version:
1) From dk weight yarn, camel:
864yards+245yards (790m+224m) and the finished size has a radius of about 39” (100cm).
2) From lace weight yarn, acrylic:
688yards (630m) and the finishes size is 54” (137cm) long and 23” (59cm) wide.
The pattern is available in English (US terms) and hopefully it will soon be available in Hungarian! ;)
