Floral Maze
Nature has always been an inspiration for me with its beautiful shapes and colors.When I started on this design, I wanted to create a shawl that reminds of cherry blossoms in full bloom and to eat cake in the garden a beautiful summer day. The shawl consists of 198 flower squares that are crocheted together when you work the last row on each square. This means you do not need to sew your squares together. The squares form a lace pattern where the flowers pop up in the middle of each square that creates this Floral Maze.
The shawl on the pictures above is made with Scheepjes, Special Edition: Whirl Ombré yarn. The color is called Forbidden Fuchsia, No. 555, and goes from light pink through cerise to dark burgundy. I used a 3.0 mm hook for my shawl, which have the measurements approx 185 x 35 cm after blocking. The pattern is available as a free download on my blog:
