It is knitted top-down from a garter stitch tab for extra strength and can be worked larger or smaller according to personal preference - yarn quantities will of course vary if the pattern is not followed exactly.
I wanted a generous sized shawl that would be useful for beach or barbeque cosiness and the yarn I chose drapes beautifully but is robust enough to be serviceable and warm. A definite winner for wear-ability and style, this shawl caused a real stir at its debut appearance and I am thrilled by its age-defying appeal!
