The long sleeve version of the pattern was initialy published in the first issue of the french magazine PAUSE in spring 2023. It’s now out of print.

Fleur de mai is a romantic cardigan knitted in a delicate lace pattern. It’s worked seamlessly from the top-down with a drop-shoulder construction. For a summer version, chose a DK weight plant-base fiber and knit a short sleeves version. For the colder months, it can be knitted in wool with long sleeves. Both versions are included in this pattern.

Sizes
XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL).
Choose a size with 4 to 6’’ / 10 to 15 cm of positive ease. Shown in size XS with 4’’ / 10 cm of positive ease.

Bust circumference of the finished cardigan (buttonned): 35 (39½, 42, 47, 51½) (54, 59, 63½, 66)’’ / 89 (100, 107, 120, 131) (137, 150, 161, 168) cm.

Gauge
20 sts and 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm OR 4 x 4’’ in lace pattern with 4.5 mm / US 7 needles, after blocking.

Ulysse by De rerum natura, 100 % merino, 185 m / 50 g.
5 (6, 7, 8, 9) (9, 10, 11, 12) balls in the Quartz colorway OR approximatively 890 (1000, 1110, 1315, 1520) (1665, 1835, 2000, 2110) m of DK weight yarn.

For the short sleeves version:
Friends Cotton Silk by Hobbii, 77 % cotton / 23 % silk, 120 m / 50 g.
6 (6, 7, 8, 10) (10, 12, 13, 13) balls in the colorway 51 OR approximatively 635 (720, 805, 950, 1105) (1200, 1345, 1465, 1550) m of DK weight yarn.

Needles and accessories
4.5 mm / US 7 and 3.5 mm / US 4 circular knitting needles
Stitch markers (choose markers that open and close)
Tapestry needle
6 to 10 buttons (15 mm)

Fleur de mai est un gilet féminin et romantique, tricoté entièrement avec un simple pointde dentelle. C’est un modèle qui se tricote du haut vers le bas, sans couture. Il a une coupe confortable avec des épaules tombantes et une flatteuse encolure en V.

Ce cardigan se porte à l’année. Tricotez-le en laine avec les manches longues pour la saison froide ou réalisez une version à manches courte dans une fibre végétale pour la période estivale. Les instructions pour ces deux options sont inclues dans ce patron. Fleur de mai se tricote dans un fil de grosseur DK.
