This is a traditional triangular shawl, worked from the center out in a pattern that resembles large and small flames. It was inspired by Mary Chapin Carpenter’s song “A Keeper for Every Flame”.
“Sometimes it’s a fire burning out of control,
Sometimes it’s nothing but a candle glow…
There’s a keeper for every flame.”

The lace pattern is both charted and written. The different shawl sizes are created by working extra repeats of one portion of the lace pattern.

Skill level: advanced beginner - you need to know how to do basic decreases (ssk, k2tog, sk2psso) and increases (yo and afterthought yo explained in pattern)
