First Light
6 a.m, 22 October. Early dawn is illuminated in strands of pale blue, lifting and lightening. The moonbeam’s morning cousin moves in cerulean luminosity. Shadows resist, gradually retreating into their hiding spaces to await twilight. Robust dark coffee steams from a diner mug. Newspaper is scattered on the table. Long beams of sunlight cross over the forest’s underbrush, reaching their arms through the windows to play dappled leaves upon the wall. Displaced air from the passing of a stray car whooshes outside, alerting the world of the day’s commencement.
This is a hat with a lot of elasticity. If you are between the two sizes, I suggest sizing down.
One skein of daylights is enough to work both the First Light hat and the First Light Mitts
Errata: Round 5 is as Round 1 on the body of the hat when working the written instructions!
