First Lace
From book:
“I began to knit doll clothes when I was six. No pattern, I just cast on and knit, shaping as I went. I love to spin lace-weight yarns. These tiny socks are knit in yarn left over from a lace jabot and cuffs knit to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Culloden where my Scots ancestors fought.”
Other book notes:
“1. This 2-needle pattern is adopted from Paragon Baby Book No. 2. 2. Size the sock up by working with sock-weight yarn and larger needles, adding length to rib, leg, heel, and foot. 3. If you prefer working socks circularly, cast on 48 sts and work Circular Lace Pattern {instead of flat}. Follow Shell Lace Sock (page 28) for heel and toe shaping.”
Materials:
1/8oz/2g (approx 60yds/55m) Lace-weight yarn. Spinner’s note Handspun Merino 2-ply worsted was used.
Size 0 (2mm) needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.
