These dolls are designed to be cute and squidgy and fun for little hands. As long as you sew them up securely, they are safe for young children. We will be using a technique to knit each doll’s body in one piece so that less sewing up is necessary at the end.

They are proportioned in 1:18 scale, meaning that all their dimensions are one eighteenth of the size they would be in real life. Dolls’ houses are often sold in 1:12 or 1:18 scale. If you have a house in mind, you can check whether the sizes will match.

Difficulty: Easy

Stitches used: kfb, k2tog, p2tog

You will need:

· Small amounts of wool (max 25g each) in various colours. I used Double Knit (8-6 ply, “light worsted”.) Tension square: 10cm x 10cm square is 24 stitches across and 32 rows.
· Knitting needles – I used UK size 12 (2.75mm, US size 2.)
· Tapestry needle
· Scraps of wool to embroider the faces
· Stuffing
· Two stitch holders / safety-pins / spare needles
