K2tog = knit two stitches together

St st = knit 1 row, purl 1 row or knit every row (circular).
Hat
Size: Women’s
Materials: 1 skein Firenze (eyelash yarn), 1 skein Encore Worsted, 16” circular needle size 10, set of 4 double pointed needles size 10 or those needed to achieve gauge, and several stitch markers
Gauge: 3 stitches = 1 inch in stockinette stitch
With 1 strand Firenze and 1 strand Encore Worsted, loosely case on 70 stitches, placing markers every 10 stitches as you go using a special marker to designate the beginning of the round. Join, being careful not to twist the stitches. Work in K1, P2 ribbing for 4”, or until Firenze runs out ending at the beginning of the round. Cut Firenze, attach a second strand of Encore Worsted and begin stockinette stitch (knit every round) for 2”.
On next round begin decreasing as follows:
Round 1: Knit to 2 before marker, K2tog. Repeat from around
Round 2: Knit
Round 3: Knit to 2 before marker, K2tog. Repeat from around
Round 4: Knit
Round 5: Knit to 2 before marker, K2tog. Repeat from around
Round 6: Knit
Round 7: Knit to 2 before marker, K2tog. Repeat from around
Round 8: Knit
Round 9: Knit to 2 before marker, K2tog. Repeat from around
Round 10: Knit
Round 11: Knit to 2 before marker, K2tog. Repeat from around
Round 12: Knit, removing additional stitch markers
Round 13: (K2, K2tog) around
Round 14: (K1, K2tog) around
Round 15: (K2tog) around.
Cut the yarn leaving a 12” tail, thread it through the remaining 7 stitches. Draw up tighly and secure. Weave in the ends. Add Pom-Pom if desired.
