Fire Line
With fall on its way, you need a cozy, stylish cardigan you can throw on for those chilly morning and cool evening walks. Something with a little ease and drape to toss on over whatever cute and cozy thing you’re wearing.
With a little bit of lace, a lot of garter, and some simple shaping, this long drapey cardigan is a treat to knit and perfect to snuggle into or look stunning going out!
The simple center panel is worked from the top down. Rows of garter stitch are picked up from the edges of the panel and worked out to create a body, which is easy to customize in length. Use scraps or a bundle to create the 7-color stripe or make the panel stand out with a single color. The options are endless!

I recommend a woolen spun yarn for this cardigan since it will help keep the garment light and not add length length. A dense yarn with low elasticity will stretch under its own weight and over time will become longer and narrower.
