Finn Fingerless Mitts
Finn Fingerless Mitts
These fingerless mitt are made in the tradition of Selbu mittens/gloves. They are knit in the round starting at the cuff. You can make these mitts with DPNs or Flexiflips. You could knit the mitten with magic loop, but I would suggest DPNs or Flexiflips for these mitts. I made these mitts for my husband. He’s been patient. I made all of my sons my Arthur Mitts while my husband waited for a pair of his own.
Traditional Norwegian patterns carry a lot of symbolism in the motifs. These mitts carry symbolism of triumph, protection, love, courage, guidance, understanding, gentleness, humility, devotion, goodness, faith, hope and did I say protection??? I want my loved ones to have all of these things.
I hope you love making these mitts! I made them with Tuku Fingering. Tuku is a lovely yarn from Finland.
I love wearing fingerless mitts because they keep you warm while still keeping your fingers free.
