Fields of Green Cowl
Cowls are just the best thing to wear in winter when out and about. They keep you neck warm and never slip off, whatever you are doing. I named this one Fields of Green because it reminds me of ploughed and seeded fields which are just turning green as the seeds sprout.
This is a straightforward make and suitable for someone new to knitting provided they can join and work in the round.
The sample is made using The Natural Dye Studio’s Special merino Silk yarn which is 50% pure merino and 50% silk, giving it warmth, structure and drape. The finished size is 60cm (approx. 24”) around by 28cm (approx. 11”) deep when blocked.
You can adapt the pattern to suit your required size or even change the yarn weight, some ideas for this are given at the end of the pattern.
