Inspired by a family walk in the English Lake District, the Fickle Steps Socks feature twisted and elongated stitches that mimic the movement of water rushing past stepping stones. The unisex socks are classically modern, achieving a sophisticated yet playful effect.

This pattern is written for the magic loop method but can be easily adapted to your preferred method of small circumference knitting. Unless indicated otherwise, stitches on both needles are worked the same.

Due to the nature of the elongated stitches, we do not recommend using a cable needle. To work the cross, you will rearrange the stitches before knitting them.
