Strong and steadfast, the coastal bedrock sprawls and juts out over the ocean from
beneath the evergreens. It is worn with glacial striations, anchored to the shoreline.
Darkening violet-grey skies and strong waves send warning signals to the unmoving
ledge. Ribbons of rain whip across the water’s surface, and the diving Osprey has
found shelter for the interim. Tree branches bend fluidly in response to the strong
winds. Though the surf swells and crashes, the rock is unmoved.
