The Fern Lace Shawlette is a simple-to-knit piece inspired by a love of all things leafy. It is worked flat from side to side while the lacy fern edging is knit at the same time as the garter stitch body and built-in I-cord edging along the top. Gradual increases in the garter stitch section create a graceful crescent curve. Beads are optional, but they do add a lovely sparkle reminiscent of raindrops on spring leaves.

I’ve updated my Fern Shawlette pattern (05.20 Ravelry download) to streamline it for classes. The i-cord edging, garter stitch body, and lace edging are now all on the same chart, and together in the instructions, instead of my previous modular approach.

I’m leaving both versions in the downloads section, so you can choose which way works better for the way you think!

The 05.20 version of this pattern is also available through my Payhip store, link here.

You may purchase this single pattern through Ravelry, or the Under 100 Knit Collection e-book or hard copy book through Knit Picks.

Errata: There is a discrepancy on the Fern Setup chart in the Under 100 Collection book. Written instructions are correct. On the chart, the YO, PB, YO on rows 1, 3 and 5 should be shifted one st to the right.
