A rhythmic pattern of mock cables and stocking stitch panels make up the fabric of this cowl. Loop it twice for luxurious warmth, or loop it once to show off the stitch pattern. The mock cables, although they look intricately braided, are easy to work and do not require a cable needle. The reverse side of the fabric is an attractive rib pattern. Worked in worsted or aran weight, this cowl is a quick knit and makes a lovely gift for men or women.

Yarn
480 yards worsted or aran weight yarn
Shown in:
(Green version) Berroco Pure Merino 100% merino

Finished Size
Circumference 48-52 inches, Depth 12-13 inches

Tension/gauge
The rib and cable pattern relaxes considerably when blocked. For an accurate gauge, please test in pattern, and wet block your swatch. Gauge is not crucial for this project, but this is the recommended range:
15-16.5 sts, 28-30 rows = 4 inches/10cm in pattern, blocked

Thank you to test knitters monatraix, triciagriffin, sciencefair, thestichinwench, and Mrskodi for your hard work and good humour. And to Charles who took lovely photos while I peevishly posed by the pipeline.
