Three children’s sizes in worsted weight. Three adult sizes in bulky. Use worsted weight, feltable wool to knit children’s sizes and bulky weight for adult sizes.

Sizes: Fits head sizes up to 18” (19.5”, 21”) in worsted weight and 22” (23.5”, 25”) in bulky weight yarn. Exact finished sizeis controlled by the amount of felting and by how the cap is blocked.

Yardage: Choose a wool or other natural fiber, that will felt.

Child’s cap: Approximately 130 (160, 180) yds of single strand worsted weight yarn.

Adult cap: Approximately 150 (180, 210) yds of single strand bulky weight yarn.

Needles: 24” circular and a set of double pointed needles in size US 10.5 for a child’s cap and size US 11 for an adult cap.

Gauge: In worsted weight yarn, approximately 3.5 sts = 1” before felting and 4.5 sts = 1” after felting.

In bulky weight yarn, approximately 2.5 sts = 1” before felting and 3.5 sts = 1” after felting.
