Felted Purse
A super sweet little coin purse for you to knit and felt.
A few hours knitting and then you too will have an opportunity to experience the magic of hand felting.
You will feel the yarn as it transforms in your hands from loose knitted fabric into beautiful tactile felt.
And maybe like me you too will find a new passion!
To create your purse you will need-
a pair of 6.5mm knitting needles
Lion brand- Cascade 220
50m /54 yd (approx 25gm DK wool)
Button
You can use any felting yarn to make this little purse. I reccomend 4 ply or double knit so that the felt is not too thick, but hey! Why not experiment?
The finished purse knitted with my yarn measures
11cm x7cm (4 1/4” x 2 3/4”)
Tension (Unfelted) 14 st x 21 rows - 10cm square stocking stitch (stockinet stitch)
Finer yarn will make more delicate felt and smaller purses, thicker
yarn will make chunky felt and larger purses.
Choose needles to give a loose knitted fabric.
