Sensory items offer a gentle yet effective way to help individuals connect with their surroundings and help enhance feelings of well-being. They’re are not just potentially therapeutic but also a way to help promote fine motor skills and sensory awareness. Each page offering a subtle yet impactful way to engage individuals.
It uses US terminology.
Skill level - Easy Peasy, with a few tricksy spots.
Material List
- Yarn weight – DK Acrylic yarn (thin kind). I used odd balls of variegated, plain colours and cakes.
- Hook size – 4mm.
- Needle for needle join and sewing in ends.
- Stitch markers.
- Beads – 27 x 5mm.
- Pom-pom (I made mine over a fork) or a 25mm button.
- Ribbon/cord – 70cm length x 6mm wide.
- Wooden donut beads – 8 x 25mm or keyrings.
- Cat brush.
- Buttons – 5 x 15mm.
- Press studs – 3 x 15mm or 18mm.
- Buttons – 6 x 12mm.
- Beads – 116 x 6mm.
- Thin cardboard – 1 x sheet (A4 size).
- Acetate – 1 x sheet (A4 size).
- Photograph or picture.
- Photo corners – 4 x corners or glue.
- Ribbon (to tie up the book) – 14 x 90cm lengths (different colours and thicknesses), charms and bells, or you could make use of two pieces of cord (90cm long).
In the prelude (beginning pages) of the pattern you will find detailed stitch tutorials, yarn quantities used and many many more bits of useful info!
You are more than welcome to work Feelings in any yarn of your choice. However, depending on the yarn and tension, you may have a size difference.
The pattern does not have step-by-step photo tutorials.
