Fata Morgana
Fata Morgana is an atmospheric phenomenon: when the weather is warm, each air layer differs in temperature and breaks the light in different ways, so that the reflection of objects appears to float and vibrate.
This yarn has such beautiful vibrant colors. I bought the fiber from Sidi and spun it extremely thin so that I can get extremely thin singles that ends up as fingering weight once Navajo plied. Also, it was my first attempt at Navajo plying. Both the colors and pattern of the scarf evokes the colorful medieval cathedrals.
The scarf is knitted sideways. The pattern includes instructions on how to broaden the scarf to get a stole. The lace pattern is easy to memorize and simple enough, which makes it an ideal choice for beginner lace knitters who want to develop their skills.
The design includes both charts and written instructions.*
